dream catcher

well we finished the dream catcher and i have to say it came out so beautiful. a few weeks back - perhaps even a month ago we bought a kit at michaels - made by Tandy Leather Factory. the info on the kit is "LEATHERCRAFT QUICK KITS wind feather dreamcatcher kit" it is #4350-02.

the kit said that it is "EZ TO-DO" -- i am not sure that i would agree with this particular statement. my dreamcatcher abilities were really put to the test with following the directions. when we purchased the kit - i looked at the "kit contains" area and purchased enough supplies to make 4 other dreamcatchers. the items - such as the suede lace, can be a little pricy - if you add everything up, it is pricy, but we wanted to have creative authority and not just use the materials that they provided. so, this CAN be an inexpensive craft, if you stick with the contents of the package.

oh and by the way, this craft was definitely not at a level that a child could handle. the thought, as i mentioned, was to have josh and i do this craft together, since he already had a very old dreamcatcher, which was falling apart, and that we researched together, the meaning of dreamcatchers. however, upon opening the kit and really getting into the instructions, we quickly learned that it is more for the adult - perhaps advanced adult crafter and not necessarily the child friendly craft that i thought it was.

in no way am i disappointed to have purchased it though - i think it was about $10 if i'm not mistaken, and it turned out beautifully!

i will post photos soon.
